My Bridesmaid Proposal Boxes

Hello everyone,

For those who do not know, I am engaged and in this post I'll be sharing everything I put in my bridesmaid proposal boxes.

First I needed some boxes, and I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for them. I found this set of boxes on Amazon. They are 8in x 8in x 4in and came with the crinkle paper, tags, string, and fake eucalyptus leaves you can use to decorate with. While these were perfect for what I needed, please be warned that these boxes are a little flimsy and wouldn't be great for very heavy objects. But I loved that they came with everything I needed to pack up my gifts and would buy again.

Something I definitely wanted to include in each box was a candle. I had been seeing these little candles all over Etsy that said bridesmaid as if it were a dictionary entry that had a little description of the role of a bridesmaid under the word. I decided that instead of buying the candles, I could make my own labels and put them on candles instead. I bought some Bath and Body Works candles in the scent A Thousand Wishes, and was able to peel the labels off much easier than I expected. Bonus points if you can get the candles on sale like I did. Then I used Canva to make my personal labels based on the many that I've seen on Etsy. I printed them on some Vinyl sticker paper and had my Cricut cut them out for me. But you could totally cut them out by hand if you didn't have a machine for that. They were super easy to stick on and my candles were ready to go!

Next, I knew I wanted to include fuzzy socks. If you know me, you know I love fuzzy socks, so much so that I have that in my Instagram bio. So I knew I had to get my girls a pair, and I found these bridesmaid themed ones on Etsy. They even have separate ones for Maid of Honor and Brides. So, yes, I did snag a pair for myself as well. They are so cute, and soft. And they came in quickly and looked perfect! Highly recommend this seller.

Now I needed one last smaller item to fit in the box, so I decided to add in these cute knot bracelets that I found on Amazon. These were great because they came with little cards that said "I couldn't tie the knot without you." I love cheesy stuff like that. They also had different count options, so if you had more or less bridesmaids you could purchase the amount that made the most sense for you.

Then I wanted to make sure the inside of the box would say "Will you be my bridesmaid?" when they opened it up. So I used my Cricut and a shiny gold vinyl to cut out letters for that. This was a little finicky. I'm not very good at weeding vinyl, but I think they turned out great in the end and I expect to use the Cricut for many more wedding DIYs in the future as well.

And then I just put everything together and asked my girls! Everyone said yes and seemed to like their box. I highly recommend doing this for your bridesmaids. You can go simple by just doing something like their favorite candy, or go crazy with purses or slippers. You could make cards for each person or add in photos. I have seen so many great ideas out there for bridesmaid proposals, so get creative and do what works for you and your bride squad!
